Frac Bretagne x Fluxus Arts Projects

In 2024 I undertook a two-month Fluxus Arts Projects residency at Domaine de Kerguéhennec and Frac Bretagne, where I explored how public sculptural objects operate as markers of superstition, memory, and ceremony. I studied the mythic and psychosocial links between the site’s permanent sculptures — including Keith Sonnier’s Porte-vue dolmen and Maria Nordman’s Fragment Pour une Cité Nouvelle — and the deep histories of the Carnac megaliths and the stark presence of contemporary wind turbines across the Breton landscape. This dialogue between ancient monuments and modern infrastructures became a way of thinking about how societies project belief, fear, and ideology onto objects.

Alongside this, I visited the Béganne citizen’s wind farm to examine the social and symbolic stakes of community-owned energy, contrasting them with myths of profit-driven ownership. The residency was a period of intensive fieldwork and creative testing, resulting in audiovisual sketches and research notes that formed the conceptual and visual groundwork for Death in the Age of Plenty, a new film and exhibition project exploring Welsh–Breton myth, language, and survival amid cultural and ecological collapse.
